Day 11: The Single Most Important Lesson I’ve Learned Working with Leaders

Not all lessons are created equal.

Some lessons we learn are small. They are little reminders along the way of what truly matters.

Other lessons are giant. They fundamentally change the course of our entire lives.

Over the past 6 years working with Leaders, this is the single most important lesson I’ve learned about Legendary Leadership:

Your Support System Determines Your Success

And here’s why:

There are so many challenges that arise when you’re a leader.

  • Projects go Haywire
  • Teams have Disputes
  • Time Feels Against You, Always

What makes all of these worse is that most leaders create a silo around themselves!

Leaders often feel like:

  • They can’t talk to their team about the challenges their organization have.
  • They don’t know anyone who could actually understand where they struggle and what they have to deal with.
  • The problems pile up and there seems to be nowhere to turn.

You may feel like this right now.

But it doesn’t have to be like this, and Legendary Leaders figure out how to ADD support to their lives. They hire coaches, consultants, mentors, teachers, and councilors to the areas they need MOST. They build and empower teams to tackle problems by themselves.

Without the right support, you will drown.

No leader can move mountains alone. It requires a team, and Legendary Leaders have teams of leaders supporting them. And those leaders are not just direct reports, they also have teams of leaders for every facet of life.

Legendary Results come from Legendary Leaders who have Legendary Teams of Support — The more support, the faster results are attained.
